Our Story
As an NGO based in Cameroon, we have seen firsthand the devastating impact of inequality, poverty, and lack of access to basic needs such as food and healthcare. We have met women and girls who have been denied equal opportunities and education, and have seen the toll that poverty and hunger take on families and communities.
But we have also seen the resilience and strength of the human spirit. We have witnessed the power of education, economic opportunities, and access to healthcare to transform lives and break the cycle of poverty.
That is why we are so dedicated to our mission of promoting gender equality, good health and well-being, and mental health awareness. We understand that these issues are interconnected and that addressing one is not enough. We must work together to achieve zero hunger, reduced inequalities and no poverty.
We have seen the hope and possibilities in the eyes of a young girl who has been able to go to school for the first time. We have seen the joy of a mother who has been able to feed her children for the first time in months. We have seen the healing that comes with access to mental health support and the power of community.
We know that there is still so much work to be done, but we also know that together, we can make a real difference in the lives of those in our community. The HandsTogether Foundation is dedicated to enhancing the contributions of young people to Africa’s development potentials by providing capacity-building opportunities, fostering civic engagement, conducting policy research, and advocating for leadership, strategy, and innovative solutions.
